Hello

Trada Document Translation was established in 2011 and ran as a side hustle for many years.  Only recently have I began to devote 100% of my time to it.  So, whatever your translation project, do not hesitate to contact me.

My Story

A foreign language learner since 1996, it seems that my life has been dedicated to languages of all sorts.  Going from learning French at High School and then moving over to France for one year to experience the language and culture in the real world, I soon obtained fluency while studying and working various jobs including as a cook in a Tex Mex restaurant in the 9th arrondissement of Paris and then as an animateur des ados in the Jura, close to the Switzerland border. I made life long friends that year, some who I still keep in touch with and go and visit as often as I can.

Soon after my return to Australia, I decided to take my language learning even further by enrolling in a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland, where I entered the advanced stream of French studies; and decided to learn not one but two more languages from scratch: Spanish and Japanese.  Was I a little crazy? Well, perhaps yes, but for the most part, just a language lover at heart.

My Spanish ability gained speed thanks to my level of French, with both languages stemming from Latin, while my Japanese level progressed at a slightly above-average rate.  After the Bachelor of Arts, I headed to Japan to live and teach English as a Second Language.  Thanks to several foreign languages, I had already learned English grammar to an advanced level, but this was my chance to extend it.  All those questions of "Why this or why that?", which pop up all too often in language learning, to which the answer is sometimes "just because".  However, sometimes, there is an actual answer.

Since that trip, my Japanese has fallen by the wayside unfortunately, but my French and Spanish have not.  Many years later, I decided to jump into the world of high school teaching, specialising in both French and Spanish, from which I am currently taking a sabbatical to commit 100% of my time to this business, establish in 2011, following the completion of a Graduate Diploma in Translation.

Over my life so far, I have gained experience in many fields, including hospitality, management, health and fitness, travel, education, logistics, dance, body building, music editing, kids clubs, and a few more.

Life is meant to be experienced and therefore, one of my first tattoos eludes to the concept of "Follow your heart".
